    Course Outline

    Module I: Self-Awareness & Interpersonal Skills

    Gain insight into crisis behavior, pinpoint your own triggers, and develop mastery over your internal dialogue and vocal expression to remain centered.

    Module II: Skills for Engaging Individuals in Conflict, Anger & Crisis

    Utilize sophisticated communication techniques to dismantle the cycle of escalation and collaboratively manage intense emotional situations.

  • Site Specific Training

    Site Specific Training offers an overview of safety to support a review of the site specific hazards that may be involved; to include a scope of safe for work specific to the site. This will also included other contracted work on-site and construction site safety that may be within a specific area or project to support workers safety.

  • Construction Site Safety

    This course provides safety training to support worker safety on a construction site; and to support the worksite to be as safe as possible. Beginning with OHS Training / Site Safety Orientation, this course offering will support worker and contractor safety from the beginning of a project or a site job.

  • Electric Pallet Jack (Walkie)

    This course will provide participants with an understanding of the regulation regarding the use of an electric pallet jack (walkie) and their application to the workplace. Topics include: pallet jack hazards; the types of pallet jacks; procedures for pre-operation, inspection, use and maintenance of equipment; and the requirement for applicable special procedures. The course includes theory and practical exercise of hands-on operation.

    Course duration: 2 hours

  • Industrial ForkLift

    This course will provide participants with an understanding of the regulation regarding the use of an industrial forklift their application to the workplace. Topics include: forklift hazards; the types of forklifts; procedures for pre-operation, inspection, use and maintenance of equipment; and the requirement for applicable special procedures. The course includes theory and practical exercises, including hands-on operation.

    Course duration: 1 day

  • Scissor Lift

    This course will provide participants with an understanding of the regulation regarding the use of a scissor lift and other elevated work platforms and their application to the workplace. Topics include: fall hazards; the types of elevated work platforms; procedures for, inspection, use and maintenance of equipment; and the requirement for fall protection procedures and plans. The course includes practical exercises and does not replace or eliminate the requirement for employer workplace specific training.

    Course duration: 1/2 day

  • Scaffold

    This course will provide participants with an understanding of the regulation regarding the use of scaffolding and its application to the workplace. Topics include: fall hazards; the types of scaffolding system; procedures for erecting, inspection, dismantling and maintenance of equipment; and the requirement for fall protection procedures and plans. The course includes practical exercises and does not replace or eliminate the requirement for employer workplace specific training.

    Course duration: 1 day

  • Job Safety Analysis

    The Hazard Prevention Program Regulation (Part XIX of the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations) requires employer representatives to implement and monitor a program for the recognition and prevention of hazards in the work place. Therefore, employers have an obligation to identify hazards, conduct risk assessments and implement control measures.

  • Investigating Workplace Violence under Part XX

    (Violence Prevention in the Workplace Regulation)

    This course will provide participants with the understanding of root cause analysis investigation under Part XX- Preventing Workplace Violence Regulation. Participants will learn the practical β€œhow to” of investigating a workplace violence incident. Topics will include: contributing factors to workplace violence, planning for an investigation, how to conduct an investigation to determine causation, interviewing techniques, and formulating recommendations and report writing.

  • Workplace Health and Safety Committee

    This course will provide participants the knowledge necessary for the establishment and effective functioning of an Occupational Health and Safety Committee. Topics covered include the internal responsibility system, roles and responsibilities of employers, employees, and workplace health and safety committees and representatives, concepts of OHS law and due diligence, rules of procedure, conducting workplace inspections and participation in incident investigations.

    Course duration: 1 Day
